Based on the novel by Kyoka Izumi "Taki no Shiraito" directed by Kenji Mizoguchi. The artist of a traveling fair troupe in Japan showing water fountains in a spectacular number dance, falls in love with a poor man Coachman. To him a law degree in distant Tokyo to make it possible, she borrows money and gives it away him. But the pressure of the creditors puts them in a hopeless situation distress. Kenji Mizoguchi's masterpiece is one of the great classics of Japanese silent film : the impressive portrait of a strong woman.

Masako Ohta (Japan), pianist and composer, has been living and working in Munich for decades. Naoto Yamagishi (Japan), percussion, is a scholarship holder of Villa Waldberta from April to June 2023.
